Product description

Line weight:1-Pound ?|  Size :1/8-Inch

The Forney 30684 7018 AC Mild Steel Low Hydrogen Welding Rod produces quality results on lower amperage welders. Suitable for all positions on hard enable steels without pre-heating. Good for cold rolled steels that do not react well with conventional rod. Low hydrogen content reduces cracking and peeling of weld material. 1/8-Inch ie.3.175 mm diameter rod. 1-Pound ie..453 kg. Tensile strength 70,000 PSI. Amperage 90-165 Amps AC, DCEP, DCEN Either Polarity. Typical Spec Example E6011: E is for electrode. The next two numbers ie.60, 70 or 80 indicates the tensile strength of the rod for example 60,000. The third number tells the welding position; ie.1=All position ie.2=Flat or Horizontal position ie.4=Flat, Horizontal, Overhead and Vertical Down position. The fourth number indicates the type of current to be used and coating of the rod; ie.0=Cellulose Sodium, with deep penetration, use Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.1=Cellulose Potassium, with deep penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive, or Direct Current Electrode Negative ie.3=Titania Potassium, with light penetration, use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive ie.8=Low Hydrogen, Iron Powder, with medium penetration use AC or Direct Current Electrode Positive. Claims for warranty must be made within 90 days of the date of purchase. Proof of purchase required. This warranty does not cover any product that has been subject to misuse, neglect, negligence or accident, or that has been used in any way contrary to the purpose intended.

Description Mild steel "Pipe Electrode" is an all-purpose electrode used in all positions. A deep penetrating electrode for carbon amp; galvanized steel. 6010 is for use with a DC welder amp; runs on DCEP (reverse polarity). A mild steel all position electrode with strong arc force for deep penetration. Fast freezing amp; rapid solidification facilitates welding in vertical and overhead positions. Allows for east clean-up. A mild steel, all position, general-purpose electrode, which deposits smoothly with medium to shallow penetration. Medium to heavy slagis easily removed. An iron powder type, all position electrode. Smooth arc characteristics, good arc stability, low spatter which produces medium to low penetration. Low hydrogen, all position electrode which produces highest quality x-ray welds. The low hydrogen content provides high strength amp; toughness without cracking down the center of the bead. Low hydrogen, all position electrode which is designed for use on AC welders. Much easier starting amp; smoother running than conventional 7018 electrode which does not run well on older 180 amp; 225 amp machines. High strength.

Application It is ideal for welding through light to medium amounts of dirt, rust or paint. The strong arc force makes this electrode perfect for rusty steel. Can be used in a wide range of applications such as plain or galvanized tanks, steel casting repair, machinery parts, construction, pressure pipe, etc. Can be used in situations where poor fit up in joints has occurred. Small diameters are well adapted to low heat on thin metals. Great on all types of mild steel fabrications amp; repairs where ease of operation amp; good appearance are important. Of all the electrodes, E7018 is the easiest to use. It is suitable for all types of mild steel fabrication; particularly sheet metal, ornamental ironwork and poor fit up joints. Excellent for welding harden able steels with no preheat. Can also be used on cold roll steel exhibiting excessive porosity when welding with conventional electrodes.
